About Us
A Family-Owned and -Operated Bakery in Bartlett, TN
Opened in April 2014, Jaybear Bake Shop is a family-owned and -operated bakery in Bartlett, Tennessee. Co-owned by sisters Courtni Johnson and Jami Harbin, our goal is to serve treats with vibrant flavors and presentations that really “wow” our customers. Whether you’re in the mood for cake, pie, cupcakes, cookies, or specialty cake pops, you’re sure to find something to satisfy your sweet tooth on our menu that changes daily. We also think you’ll enjoy our fun atmosphere!

Take a Sweet Journey with Unique Flavors Bursting with Love
Inspired by the familiar (family recipes passed down) and the unfamiliar (ideas we come up with after trips to other locales), we use our insatiable curiosity to create unique flavor combinations you won’t find elsewhere. From our “Ooey Gooeys” to our mouth-watering Sweet Potato Pie, our super-moist Red Velvet Cake, and our flavor-packed Triple Strawberry Cupcakes that are a triple threat to sensible diets everywhere, our Jaybear favorites have helped us build a loyal following over the years.

A Business Model Based on Spreading Christ’s Love and Faith
At Jaybear Bake Shop, our business philosophy has always been, “Everyone is your neighbor, and you should love your neighbor.” As devout Christians, we’ve made it our mission to reflect Christ’s love in every business interaction, meaning we treat every customer and business partner like family. As such, we’re dedicated to providing exceptional customer service every time with no excuses. We believe in making everything we do the best we’ve ever done. We’d eventually love to spread our business model to restaurants or other franchised bakeries in Memphis, Nashville, and across Tennessee.

Meet Our Hardworking Bear Crew, Ready to Serve You
Our Dedicated Bear Crew
Courtni Johnson, Co-Owner
After spending many years working in Corporate America, Courtni decided to focus on what makes her happy by opening Jaybear Bake Shop. Having always found baking for friends, family, and co-workers to be both therapeutic and rewarding, she spent years honing her craft by experimenting in the kitchen and educating and challenging herself a little more each day. Using “trade secrets” picked up at her granny’s table, she’s currently living out her dream by serving people with a whole lotta love and kindness and a little bit of sugar!
Jami Harbin, Co-Owner
Jami decided to go into business with her sister Courtni because it allowed her the freedom to express herself through the art of baking. Whether it’s a recipe passed down from their grandmother or their favorite aunt, baking is in the Harbin genes, and both sisters absolutely love what they do!
